Thanks for the really good laugh. My week wouldn't have been nearly as busy as it was if even 10% of MSPs actually knew what they were doing.

Quite right, but that is another story is it not?

Not really. Many of the organisations that were affected by the Wannacry attack had MSPs who don't understand patch management and who couldn't devise a workable upgrade strategy if it was given to them on a plate.

Are all the people and businesses who've been affected by ransomware too poor to upgrade their computers? Including Renault, Nissan and Deutsche Bahn? I think not.

There are arguments to be made that the NHS is under funded and I would agree with you in some respects, but this is purely incompetence, nothing more. You're making a cheap political point with no evidence.

You could devote the entire GDP of the country to the NHS and they'd still want more!

Quite. And I'm not sure many companies have outside help for doing it either

Most of the (if not all) Railway Signalling side that is PC controlled is all self contained and has no access to / from the outside world, any updates have to done locally from a laptop brought in by the Comapny concerned, if there were any issues with the software, it would be found long before any attempt to update the Signalling Controls
TOPS / Internal Logs may have the chance to be attacked, but as there are well used backups in place, then no real issue there either I would have though, but the Railway IT system is well locked down anyway
