Complicated trip to Guildford

Hi all,
I am new to this forum and wonder if anyone can help me with my problem. I need to get to Guildford and I live near Romford station or I could go from Elm Park station district line. I am very elderly and want to meet up with my niece who lives in Newham so she can accompany on the journey. She can go from Upton Park station district line. Obviously want the shortest journey as well. So what station would we be able to meet up so that I am not on my own for the shortest period. Could you give details of route please. I would appreciate this very much.

Trains to Guildford leave from Waterloo station.
From Elm Park go to West Ham on the District (your niece joins you at Upton park), then change onto the Jubilee line to Waterloo.
From Romford go on the Elizabeth line to Stratford, then change onto the Jubilee line; your niece would the join you at West Ham so you'd have to manage the change yourself - I don't know if that's a problem.

Elm Park is a couple of minutes faster according to the journey planner. At normal walking speed for changing trains it's 51 minutes at this time of day (11am).

Waterloo to Guildford has 3 fast trains an hour taking around 35min.
