Hmmm....I really am torn between two outstanding pictures that I wish to vote for: Number three is absolutely fascinating and something a bit different, but at the same time the Mull Rail shot, number 11, is very pretty to look at: The little train against the rugged Scottish landscape of cliffs and gorse.

2 and 13 also held my attention, but overall, I'm voting for number 11.

I like number 11, however number 3 wins my vote this week. Rather different angle and the only out-of-use turntable in the competition. Liked most entries, but 3 caught my eye and attention the most.

Agree, a very original photograph, and gets my vote.

I can't explain why, but there's just something I like about Number 3. The way it captures the dissused rail shed of Kumasi seems a litte special. No question about my vote.

Number 3 with its commentary is certainly the most interesting. I like number 11 but a bit of explanation would have been nice - where it is and why the rails are rusty for instance (although I see that it is on the Isle of Mull). The question is, will I vote for one of them, or something different....12 maybe which is a good composition with a lot to see in the background.

11's a very good one with lots of interest and an unusual setting, but it would have been nice to know what it is / where it was. I know now, but only thanks to posts above.

I was split between that one and number 3, and have gone for 3 because I learnt something from it and I like the composition.

There are people who don't know about the wonderful little Mull Rail line? Such a shame, especially when its' continued existance is in so much doubt at the moment :cry: (Unless there have been recent developments to the contrary: Seems to be operating this summer).

It's rumored to be moving to Balloch to connect the station there with Loch Lomond on the route of the old line to Balloch Pier.

11 definitely. Victoria is a beautiful wee loco and this is a stunning picture of her. Well done to the photographer.

That could actually be a very good move for the railway, as it would make it much more accessible for a greater number of people to visit. It would be a shame to see the loss of the only railway line (AFAIK) on the Scottish islands though (Exclduing the strange cliff railway contraption on the Isle of Skye that is in connection with a hydro-electric power station or something, but that doesn't really count as a "railway" proper).

It is a nice pic, possibly a little over exposed as some of the colours are a bit washed out, but still a nice shot
