Number 3 for me, I am quite disappointed at the number of entries, I would have expected quite a few more.

Has to be number 3, but like MattTaylor, I am surprised at the number of options, especially the fact that there is none of stations etc. The lighting (and fact that it's now no longer in this country!) was my reasoning for 3.

#3 for me because it is the only one not looking the worse for wear, although as has been said it isnt quite right :p

Number three is technically the best photograph, but I'm afraid that I can't vote for a picture that doesn't fit the chosen category - that would make the whole competition a bit pointless.
So,out of the remaining entrants,my choice would be for number one.Whilst not a great photograph,I feel that it is the best of a (frankly) poor bunch.

I'm just not going to bother entering my pictures anymore, since they are always crap! (and everyone says that everyweek! - well they are but then most people that enter are professionals!) so what is the point of me entering any more! (edit - I apologise for this comment, i just keep taking conclusions)

Stick in mate, it is only for fun remember, I don't take photographs, and I never enter, but I do enjoy perusing them! Keep the faith!

No way - stick to it. Even if your pictures are "crap", and that I don't believe, the best way to improve is to receive criticism and learn from it. For instance, this week, the "87" is the stand out picture technically, but not that interesting (except for the innovation of apparently having a box glued to the rear end). And it is not, as others have said, completely spec compliant. I have voted for #2 because, though colours are poor, there is a lot of interest in the photo - the various signs and fences make me think, not of dereliction, but of the last of a species, caged and sad (think King Kong on stage!). So remember, your audience is large, and you will always have someone who appreciates what you have done.

Had number 4 had a bit more colour I think that would have been the one to go for....

Oops - forgot to mention in my earlier post but I didn't get to enter this one. I suddenly remembered about 21.00 Sunday night that I hadn't sent my entry off.
I hadn't actually decided which shot to submit, but it would have been either this -

http://david-j-smith.fotopic.net/p62496740.html

or this -

http://david-j-smith.fotopic.net/p62301515.html

I hadn't made a final decision but I'd probably have gone with the night shot.

Oh well, never mind, there's always next week. Best of luck to this weeks entrants.

I'm certainly no professional (unless I'm a professional busybody!) and I'm lucky if I get one vote - but it's supposed to be fun, so I give it a go when I've something that fits. I generally just enter my favourite within the category - although I agree it gets very disheartening when all the comments are negative. A bit more positive and constructive feedback would be useful for those of us trying to improve...

A photo that admits it doesn't fit the category - and still it's a runaway winner. Could be a nasty precedent there...
So much for "if it doesn't fit, don't vote for it"!
