This week my vote goes to 8. I will accept that there is a hint of bias here because it is quite similar to the only scoring shot I have ever submitted (I so wanted to enter this week, but I'm not submittin something twice...), but I still think that it is a good shot and took some luck to get it free of wandering half-wits.

Elsewhere, 1 shows that simplicity can work (simple shot... simple caption), 5 gives an interesting perspective, 10 is kinda cute... and 7 warrants a vote for its caption! Utterly brilliant

Dunno how often it happens, but the shutter was open when it did !! Get s my vote, nice use of colour to include building and A4 road sign to give a bit more content, etc !

How often does the event shown on the DLR in pic 7 happen? I have never seen this before!

TransportPhoto: not likely to be repeated! It was one week, end-May 2009; the DLR service was part-closed to complete work at Canning Town: slewing of the Beckton / North Woolwich lines, commissioning of a new flyover/under and installation of a crossover onto the not-yet-open Stratford International link.

I'm not clear why the units were simply coupled up and dumped along the line (20 between Blackwall and East India, 6 at City Airport), rather than tucked up in Beckton or Poplar Serco depots.

I also took shots of the actual track-slewing in progress; but I wasn't in the area during the day that the Canning Town flyover was swung into place.

Im going with No. 10 this week, like it, good idea, its not just a standard rail picture, some differnet point of view. Also No. 5 its very nice, it looks like screen shot from a cartoon movie, really good.

Some pretty good entries this week
Number 3 is a really good long exposure and 7 must be a pretty rare sight (although maybe not if answer b is to be believed )
However, number 10 gets my vote this week - it has a good contrast to the buildings around it and has generally turned out pretty well
