Before I answer properly, something I've noticed. According to the following message you sent 24 days ago (in a reply to me for competition 409)...

The only thing thats against the rules is actually revealing which photo is yours.

...number (removed) could be in line for a disqualification. Its filename is a dead giveaway as to whose shot it is. (Unless some loser somewhere has tried to hijack the competition of course.) It is a damn good shot though.

Anyway, to answer, I call number 8. Maybe it's the nostalgia kicking in.

Yep, I agree, the halos around the overheads look it too, and that's not permitted I don't think. It's agreat angle etc, but has ended up like a painting. I've gone with #10, great idea, well executed

17 & 22 make me laugh- they're almost identical shots! Must have been taken no more than a few minutes apart!

#1 for me, bit of everything in there and the photographer managed perfectly NOT to get that chimney growing out of the loco.

#14 is odd to say the least but worthy shot non-the-less.

14 is a case of too much processing which actually detracts from what would otherwise have been a very good image. Whether or not HDR shots are allowed or not is not for me to say but on a personal level I don't like HDR and thus 14 doesn't get my vote. 22 gets my vote this week.

I agree doesn't look very natural also arn't Class 92 Locomotives pwered by Overhead Cables Via Pantograph therefore not 3rd Rail Locomotives ?

Epic and fail I'm afraid. Like Eurostars, Desiros and a few others no doubt, they are able to run off overheads or 3rd rail.

And as said in the thread asking for entries, even (designed as) dual-mode sets that have no pick up shoes (such as 365s and 350s) were eligible- pretty sure Eurostars have lost their shoes too?

What was the outcome of your investigation into number 14?

Nothing can be done as unfortunately its not possible to send PMs to members with under 5 posts. The user in question has no posts. I can only reasonably assume that the photo has been edited and would be disqualified, but as it didn't win it doesn't really matter.

For the record though I have officially disqualified number 14.
