3, 5, & 6 are the only ones that IMHO have attempted to face the challenge of composition in a lineside shot. I like 5, though think it would have been better half a moment later. 3 is the sort of picture I have taken, but i think the loco is TOO dominant. For the energy and exuberance, I am going for 6

Tricky!

2 has novelty value, 4 is pretty & 5 has mystery and is a bit different. 10 is pretty and colourful, but whatever has been done to the colours for the train and the greenery doesn't work for the sky so well.

5 in the end, but a close run thing!

I'm going for 11,just my favourite photo tbh.

I think i got the meaning of this totally wrong......

I would go for 5 but i don't really it for some reason,can't put my finger on it. Perhaps its the shadows,who knows.

I voted 7, I liked the angle and the nice colour combination of the loco and the carriages.

If you click on the image (not the thumbnail) a larger version will open in a new window, which is often considerably sharper.

Other than that, no, no reason your entry should be any different to how it was when you submitted it.

Actually a nice collection of shots this week and can easily say that if I took any of those shots I would be happy with them but the ones which stand out are ...........

2 Superb and different very good to see light rail and foreign traction in the competition for a change and the compusure and positioning are top notch.

8 This shot is very good but in more of a nostalgic sense than anything although I can tell the photographer has been doing this for a while and the shot is well composed and very worthwhile.

11 I wont spoil the fun but the photographer who took this has a very obvious style as I know who it is but I can easily say the person in question knows his stuff and once again it has paid off and another excellent well composed shot from a very tempting location.

personally this time I'm going for number 2 due to the inovation involved as far as this competition is involved.

Agreed #2 very refreshing to see a different train.....!! Nicely composed but that #10 gets my vote, plenty of colour, sun in correct place ( !! ) it's just so spot on. Well done matey.........were you on the ballast??
