Wow. I am impressed by virtually every entry. To my surprise, this week's competition is the first one where I could guess who had entered what on a few photos. Not that it has influenced my choices whatsoever I ought to add.

Only a tiny bit disappointed with two photos, those being 07 and 09. 07 because of the blur, otherwise I quite like it as it brings back memories from early in my enthusiast life. 09 due to needing a bit of a touch-up with the saturation and such like. Otherwise it too brings back memories of having that exact same pair on summer Saturday Holidaymakers back in summer 2007.

Now my problem comes down to which one do I like the most. I like an awful lot of them, indeed all of them deserve to be winners for various reasons, with every photo dragging up fond memories of trips all over the country. Especially photo number 1 of 43002 on the approach to Newport, so many memories I have of chasing her seemingly everywhere (but never to Penzance unfortunately). Number 6 appeared at first viewing to me to be a clear winner, but then I also like numbers 3, 4, 8 and 10 a lot too.

So personally, I cannot currently choose a winner. I've lulled it over a number of times already, but there's just so many photos which deserve to win this competition in my eyes. I shall return before the close of voting and decide on the winner. I have a feeling it'll be number 6, but I will prefer to leave the decision until I've slept on it.

I'll add now my thanks to everyone for entering their choice for this POTW, I've thoroughly enjoyed each of them for different reasons in each case and indeed the memories each of them brought for me.

I am aware, before someone points it out, that my post makes it sound like these are all long-ago scrapped trains but I didn't intend for it to come across as that, but reading it through that seems to be a vibe that comes across. Apologies if so.

10 for me as that in essence is what a HST has always been to me a good old IC liveried Intercity 125.

12 - it's good to see an HST in a seemingly forgotten livery.

And not a bent PC in Sight! Superb :D

12 for moi

Have to admit, I was extremely happy to see that!

I know it's far too late to enter, but the below is what I would have entered if I'd had the sense to get on with it:

Oh how many memories that brings back...

I thought you would have been on top of your game and entered for this one considering it's HST.
