Interesting one for you this week: Rolling stock that is decaying OR awaiting restoration.

Entries in by 1900 next Sunday please :)

In case you're wondering: Jordy thinks I did such a good job over the last three weeks he asked me to sort this week's one out too!

Just to clarify the topic.
By 'Awaiting Restoration', I don't mean stock that has been kept in sheds or museums, in good cosmetic condition and just awaiting funds to get it running.

I mean stock that has been acquired in near-scrapyard condition and left out in the open, waiting for its turn in the overhaul queue which might not come for many more years yet.

Like 43103 until a few months ago? Lying rotting without bogies or an engine?

Nope, doesn't matter so long as the stock itself fits the topic.

Who died and made you the POTW co-ordinator? :p

I don't have any pictures for this one. Will be nice to see the entries for this though. Although it'll be a little sad if we see lots of lovely locos for scrap :(

It doesn't necessarily have to be scrap.

If the railways weren't in such a bad state as they are, then the locos wouldn't be for scrap/pres. Blame the Government (it usually works) :D

Personally all the Sheds should be exiled, and our 58's/37s/141's/87s etc brought back, with new decent depots and fitters, and all our proper locos brought back up to top notch operating standards.

No, but I imagine we'll be seeing alot of scrap this week anyway.

I'll see if I have anything scruffy enough to pass for this one.
