Compatiblity on Hornby

I'm not sure whether or not this has been answered or not, but do other models (e.g. Bachmann) work on a Hornby set or not.

Short answer, as long as they are all HO/OO gauge, then Yes

And even though they're now part of hornby you can still pick up 2nd hand Lima models

Yes they should do, although I did have problems between old versions of the tension lock coupling on Hornby wagons and some of the newer versions that Bachmann produce which are smaller.

One of the replacement systems is Kadee, or you could make your own 3 links or other more realistic couplings.
