Commuting to Waterloo

In need of some relatively urgent help here.

I'm working at St Thomas' Hospital near Waterloo from next Monday for two weeks. I'll have to commute in by train as it's too expensive to drive.

I'll probably need two weekly season tickets, but when I try and search for these on the SWT website I'm told the minimum duration is one month?

Also will it be cheaper to do a Farnham - Waterloo season ticket or a Hatfield - Waterloo ticket? Any splits available? I can commute from either.

I need to know how expensive it will be before beginning of play tomorrow, and thus whether I need to blag a room in South London. I will buy a pint for whoever helps me to sort this out!

Farnham - Waterloo (Any Permitted) - £89.40/week

This is required to cross London as Waterloo isn't an appropriate London Terminal for Hatfield.

Both tickets appear on the NRE season ticket calculator. SWT don't sell weekly tickets online which may be why their website doesn't offer them so you'd have to get the Farnham one at the station.

If you don't mind a 20 minute walk after getting off your train you could shave £19.30 a week off that by getting Hatfield - Blackfriars via Thameslink - do use the Southern entrance from Blackfriars.

As for splits, a Hatfield-Essex Road ticket costs £51.50, with a Z1-2 travelcard costing an extra £30.40 (£81.90 total). It appears that everything which stops in Hatfield also stops in Finsbury Park, so you'd change from one ticket to the other there.

If you're thinking of switching to the Underground in Finsbury Park, Oyster may be cheaper for the last bit. It's £2.80 in the morning peak and £2.10 otherwise, so would be £24.50 for 5 peak and 5 off-peak journeys.

You can save a bit more by buying a season ticket to Harringay and a Z1-3 travelcard, but you'd have to check that the train you catch stops at Alexandra Palace, Hornsey or Harringay. The fastest trains tend not to, but this may not be an issue at the times you intend to travel.

Thanks all. I think I've found some money to buy the tickets with, and will be commuting in from Farnham. What I save in commuting from Hatfield will be lost by driving round there in the first place. Much appreciated.
