Commute Tonbridge/Paddock Wood

Hi,

I am moving to the Tunbridge Wells area (specifically Pembury) and I commute everyday into Cannon Street.

I will have to drive to the station and park and I am trying to decide which station to get my season ticket from/to.

Some people prefer to go from Tonbridge and others prefer Paddock Wood. Both stations are will be equidistant from my new house.

I wondered whether there is anyone on here that has experience of this.

I suppose the main thing is parking. I have heard of people buying a parking season ticket and not being able to find a space eg am I more likely to find a space at Paddock Wood as the station is further out of London (cheaper) and not used as much as Tunbridge?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Tonbridge has an extra 4 trains an hour (Tun Wells and Hastings services) compared to Paddock Wood. I'd definitely be going from Tonbridge. High Brooms is probably the nearest station to Pembury but traffic around TW and the North Farm estate can be brutal. A21 to Tonbridge definitely your best bet I would say. You shouldn't have trouble parking at Tonbridge now they have the double-decker car park as well as the one where the Saturday market is behind it.

It's a balance between less trains from Paddock Wood but greater chance of a seat and more trains from Tonbridge. another issue is road traffic. It's much easier to drive to/from Paddock Wood than Tonbridge which has severe hold ups in rush hour.

I used to live in Pembury and normally used High Brooms, free on street parking and there are fast trains in peak hours that don't stop at Tonbridge. I can't see any point in going to Paddock Wood quite honestly.

Unfortunately lots of people did the same so there is now a Controlled Parking Zone around High Brooms.
