As I haven't seen any such thread here, I thought I'd start a thread for any of you to report anything unusual you saw on the railways during the Commonwealth Games.

It has already been reported that TPE extended some Manchester-Glasgow services to 8 cars by adjoining a loaned London Midland 350 unit to one of their own class 350/4s.

I rode a class 380 on the Paisley Canal line, which I thought was just 314 or 318 operated. I also saw several examples of a blue 320 running in double with an SPT-liveried 318, which looked an odd pairing!

I noticed a 156 on Motherwell-Cumbernauld duty, maybe to release another EMU to strengthen other electric services.

My B&B then was in Edinburgh, and I caught the 7.57 to Glasgow Central via Shotts. The notice displays at Edinburgh Waverley were encouraging Commonwealth Games passengers to use trains like this one and the 8.08 to/ beyond Glasgow Queen Street. I expect this was to reduce likely overcrowding on the main line via Falkirk High.

Any other Comonwealth Games oddities, feel free to report them!

380s have been cleared for the Paisley Canal since opening.

Were there any 170s on North Berwick services to release 380s to Glasgow services?

Cross Country Operated 5S51 Glasgow Central to Craigentinny TRSMD (via Edinburgh) became 1Z51 between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh calling at Haymarket ONLY. 5S51 started at Edinbuurgh.

There have been a couple of threads already:
LM 350's on Glasgow Services
ScotRail 380s on North Clyde line

I've had a 318 and 320 pairing on my September 2013 SPT Daytripper, I forget which ones but it was on a Motherwell to Carluke via Holytown journey I believe.

Granted, it's not something you see often, or at least I haven't.

318's and 320's now work as a common pool so pairing is an everyday occurrence these days.
