All those Coronation displays in the window of shops and other businesses. It doesn’t matter what they are: butchers, bakers, candlestick-makers, or whatever, they have to do it. A few make an effort, but most just seem to consist of a random collection of junk with the most tenuous connection to royalty and pictures cut out of newspapers and magazines. Amongst the worst are charity shops, which seem to have displays consisting of various royal books from their endless supply of such donations. Quite how anyone is going to be enthused by this when the centrepiece is a book ‘celebrating’ Charles & Diana‘s marriage, I know not.
