Comedic "things you would ban": minor things that irritate you

Mostly Glasgow-ish. Mostly.
Do you not find that uploading and downloading files from it takes ridiculously long?
I had to upload 48 megabytes earlier and it took almost 15 minutes despite having a fast internet connection.

Tbh I don't keep track of upload speeds, OneDrive just sits quietly up on the menu bar uploading, syncing and doing its thing without complaint.

Ah. I use it for file sharing (because it integrates with our organisation licensed Office 365) but it takes ages.
I don't tend to use it for backup purposes

OneDrive, which my company switched to last year unfortunately, is awful. Sometimes it takes such a long for even smallish (in relative terms these days) to sync in and be available.

no fryer in any catering outlet should be cooking meat/dairy products with the same oil and in the same appliance as non-meat/dairy products
We have a separate pan of lard that we only use for cooking vegan food.

The concept of this thread is pretty simple. Imagining you were an entirely selfish dictator guaranteed to stay in power for your entire life, and you wanted to make the world 'perfect' from your perspective, what petty things that annoy you would you make illegal?

Let's try to keep this lighthearted please. An example I'll give is ticket booking interfaces where typing a CRS code in the station search field doesn't automatically send the pertinent station to the top of the list.

I ban Amazon from not giving track listings for albums they sell.

I also ban people on this thread from banning people who do things, as opposed to banning them from doing things. :p

While it had a few funny moments, Only Fools and Horses is ludicrously over rated. Exemplified best by probably the most famous (based on how many times it's repeated) scene of the entire series where Del Boy falls over at the bar. Mildly amusing the first time maybe, but why it's held up as one of the funniest scenes in any series ever is beyond me.

Taking slightly more recent examples, I never 'got' Friends either and How I Met Your Mother gives me a strong urge to throw the TV out of the window. Unfortunately my GF likes both of them.
I think we all have things we cannot understand why they are described as funny. In my case it included Steptoe & Alf Garbage (Garnett). The actors may have been talented, but the "material" was s**t.

After 2,325 posts, is there anything in the world left that isn't banned by this thread? ;)

The waving of EU flags at the Last Night of the Proms.

Mind you, the way things are going, it probably won't be too long before the Last Night of the Proms is banned.

I think we already have about a hundred threads dedicated to the banning of face masks.
On a sleepness night, I get off by counting to myself the number of threads devoted to face masks. Got up to 582 one night before deciding morphine was a better route. ;)

Twenty years ago, Merseyside was the obsession. Trot out some lovable scousers for 25 minutes once a week.

There is something very compelling about Yorkshire though.

That said, looking at your avatar, a programme about Sussex would be good as well :)

I've been re-watching 'Bread' recently and have been quite enjoying it !

I look forward, as a cricket fan, to a fly-on-the-wall series set in Headingley.

People that set the clocks in their cars or kitchens a few minutes fast in the belief that it’ll make them finally get to things on time.
It won’t.
Now you haven’t got a clue what the correct time is and you’ll still be late for everything!

Actually going on from that, people that are constantly late whenever you arrange to meet up with them…

Is that because they are clueless and disorganised, or maybe because they believe that their time is more important than yours?
