I was booked on the 0917 through IC 119 to Innsbruck 1905. Good long run with changes of motive power on way. I assume due to works train unable to call at Heidelberg and train now starts Lindau 1555, so getting 0817 EC115 to Ulm, for 1319 IRE 4807 to Lindau. Anyone know if this might be diesel loco hauled?

Sorry mods please place in international train forum?
It will be electric hauled from Lindau, the railway to Austria is electrified. The railway towards Munich is not so your IRE might be diesel hauled?

Ulm-Lindau will be one of the glorified S-Bahn units, 425s or similar. The Traxx turns are Stuttgart-Friedrichshafens.

The only booked 218 working Stuttgart-Ulm is IC2013, 1117 from Koeln.

That line south from Ulm is one of the latest being electrified-even after the rather very budget set-up of the line Swiss/Bregenz to München-which led to the near abandanment of the old and rather left at old state station in Lindau-island. Which may explain this all.
