Just an update.
pluses: When the collect system failed this week and folks were unable to collect from machines, we were able to issue the tickets.
minus. A punter had bought from the trainline and while I could see the ticket on my screen, I was unable to issue it due to it needing a credit card. If I entered her card details, it brought up her purchase history, but not the current ticket. It seems this issue was the punter had logged into trainline as guest to speed things up. Anyway, this is what the folks in charge said:
"Trainline tickets have started to be troublesome of late wherte the customer does not sign in or have an account. You can purchase as a guest to save more time apparently.
This creates a booking under A Customer and Trainline still insist that the same card is used for collection. If the same card is presented however; it still seems to refuse to issue. This even affects customers trying to collect from a TVM.
Problem I have is that for me to raise thie with the Rail Delivery Group, I need the booking reference, so if this occurs again, please send examples."
It looks a way around is to enter the name as just 'customer' and then the card details, so will try that next time.,
Oh and yes, it's worldline. We can now read ITSO cards as well.
