Hi,
I'm planning on a number of trips in and around the East Midlands and was hoping a couple of things could be checked for me.

1. Is a Coleshill Parkway - Derby Season ticket valid on journeys via Birmingham and Leicester? (I believe that it is)
2. To travel to Nottingham, could I use this ticket in combination with an East Midlands Parkway - Nottingham ticket.

Thanks in advance

Yes and yes, though re: 1. it might just be how you've worded it but I assume you don't mean CP - Birmingham - Leicester - Derby?

If you really wanted you could also go CP - Nuneaton - Tamworth - Derby if you wished.

Thanks.

It wasn't best worded, although I suppose as Season tickets are valid for stopping short I could do that if I wished. I've got to go to Leicester and back on Monday / Tuesday, Nottingham & back on Weds - Fri and Derby on Sunday, so this feels like the best option, just adding the East Mids Parkway tickets as needed.

Journey time to Derby is virtually the same going via Leicester or via Birmingham

Some people might claim that you are not allowed to end your journey at Nottingham given that you pass through Beeston and Attenborough en route, and would do again if you continued to Derby.

I wouldn't buy the East Midlands Parkway tickets, though. The season ticket is undoubtedly valid to Attenborough, so adding an Attenborough-Nottingham day return would be sufficient for a journey to Nottingham even if the above claim is correct (remembering that, when combining a season ticket with a ticket which isn't a season ticket, the train need not call at the station where you change from one to the other).

A Birmingham-Derby ticket would not be valid via Attenborough, Beeston or Nottingham, incidentally, so muug1982 is better off without one of those.

It all depends what the OP wishes to do - a return to Nottingham from either Long Eaton or EM P'way is less than £5; A Coventry to Derby season is only £5 more and that allows travel via Stafford & Stoke.

Beeston & Attenborough stations are in Nottingham Routeing Group so you are allowed to double back through these for connectional purposes.

The question is whether you are allowed to leave the station at Nottingham as under the "routeing groups rule" you are only allowed there for connectional purposes, it is debateable (and not defined) whether you can break your journey.
