Cold

After much research and experience, i officially declare last night, Cold!!
Since about September, i have been telling Blue Hatters and Apprentices that "It ain't cold yet, it gets alot colder."
I was actually colder last night than when it snowed in the South a few weeks ago.
When i got back to my car at Havant {after being spending the night working at Earley} it was still covered in a thick frost at 9am, not just the windows, but the bodywork too.
After clearing the windows to allow sufficient vision, i took the car for a quick blast down the A27 to Chichester and back, to clear off the ice and warm everything through. It also put some charge back into the battery which i would imagine was not impressed at standing all night in the cold.

It is now briefly acceptable to complain about the cold!

That's the salt in the air.
There was a nasty accident on the Hogs Back this morning because the road was one giant sheet of ice.
As i passed the paramedics had just arrived and were the first emergency services on the scene.
I didn't fancy they're job. The sun was just coming up, the road was covered in ice and they were picking up the pieces of high speed crash between two cars on a dual carriageway.
Some of my mates were abit further behind me and by the time they got to the scene the Police had shut the road in both directions, so it took them nearly an extra hour to get back to depot. :???:

I've just returned from a swift voyage through Hawley Woods and - Though the Sun has been shining brightly (And bloody hot too! ad throughout the day, there were still thick patches of ice covering the ground just about everywhere ye looked! 8)

Praise Odin! The finest, most heartwarming of the seasons has returned at long last!!! ​

Ahh...That answers my question as to why the traffic was so bad around Aldershot this morning! hock:

For the 1st time in 2 weeks!

Frost has been lingering until midday here and night fishing the other night, my car was frozen solid by 1am, frozen lock and electric windows. Plus the gritters have been thin on the ground this year. Main trunk road- black ice and main routes through town!

I agree wif deaf vou, cos vat white carpet's bootiful. Reminds me of a time last year, driving the A171 moors road (Middlesbrough-Whitby). Nothing out of the ordinary for miles, then periodically I'd pass through an invisible curtain into a white wonderland for a few miles, then back to normal again. Wierd, but very photogenic.
