Whilst Greater Anglia I believe are still to introduce the class 720 units to some services, I do wonder when the class 321 units that do the Colchester to Colchester Town services will be replaced and if the 8 car (two class 321 units), is going to be replaced with just one 5 car class 720 unit?

It will most likely depend on the likely demand for any given service.

Most Colchester to Colchester Town services are fillers between Liverpool Street to Colchester Town services - ie they work Liverpool Street - Colchester Town - Colchester - Colchester Town - Liverpool Street. Some are already 10-car 720 formations.

And remember a 5 coach 720 has a similar number of seats as a 8 coach 321 due to the longer coaches and higher density interior.
