Colchester Carousel?

In my box of tickets, I found a One Day Rover from 1988. The ticket is from Clacton to Colchester Carousel. As far as I can ascertain, Colchester station has never been called "Colchester Carousel" and I can find no trace of a reference through searching the web.

So. Does anyone know what the "Carousel" bit refers to and why it's there?

Could the "Carousel" bit refer to the rover itself; as one can go 'round the network as if on one? Just a guess mind.
