Hi!

Sorry if I'm wasting everyone's time here.

I was wondering if anyone had information about the final outbound train from Preston Docks to take the remaining rake of bitumen tankers to storage. I've heard for about a month now that 28th February is the day but now that day is almost upon us and I'm still none the wiser what time I should set my alarm clock for!

Thanks and kindest regards in advance.

The remaining tanks are supposed to be moving to Eastriggs for storage some time
in the next week or so.

Usual caveats apply, but these set of paths have just been through A4C - so should be departing docks 0824 on Tuesday down to Carlisle yard, then onto Eastriggs

Is there a reason why they have to go as two portions from Kingmoor to Eastriggs?

Someone discussed on the forum elsewhere the cost had gone up considerably of leasing the tanks off the leasing company. Obviously that's not the whole picture why its gone over to road haulage, but it would seem to suggest that what you are saying is unlikely.

I think it was related to Rail traffic going to the Dalston terminal( near Carlisle) ceasing due to leasing costs mentioned above.
