Thanks, My nephew would love to see that.

The latest installment of Thomas the Tank Engine is Misty Island Rescue which features logging trains.

If its coming from Chirk then it will be empty.
So will it be loaded on the way back? any timings?

Sorry, yes it will - getting loaded up at Teignbridge Level Crossing and returning back up to Chirk the next day.

As for what unit will be used, the two previous log trains in December both used 66847, so I wonder if that might be the norm.

Lots of pictures and information on the previous trains here.

Is this a weekly run or not?
It is still "bedding in" at present, but yes, it is intended to be a weekly service,
although times and days may vary from week to week because the wagons are
also used to collect timber 'as required' from Ribblehead.

66847 at Chirk, train was rumoured to be going twice weekly in the coming weeks.
