Assuming Colas still own a number of class 66 locomotives what services are they used for these days. I haven't seen one for ages. I havent' even seen pictures of the them for a while.

Are they stored or just in use somewhere i haven't seen? They are not common at MKC but even on my travels i haven't bumped into one for a long time.

They generally only work between Hoo Junction and Eastleigh/Whitemoor these days,
so unless your 'travels' take in either of those two routes, you won't see them, I'm afraid!

Thanks - i haven't been over that way for a while which must be why i haven't seen them.

Any chance they could be disposed of?

I guess that would be part of the grand swap of 70s from Freightliner that many have postulated! ;)

I am probably imagining things as I had two little people running me ragged but I'm sure I saw at least one at Cardiff Central Tuesday PM

I've got to say I'm amazed at the amount of locos DB/Frightliner/Colas and GWR and ATW DMU and GWR HST and cross country voyager (I think) - spotters paradise!

60s and 70s at Canton currently - haven't seen a Colas 66 in the yeard there for a good 6 months (I travel past it every day)

2 Colas 66s have been on West Country Engineers recently. Were a couple at Westbury on Saturday too.
