We really need to get rid of this yellow front requirement. It's not relevant anymore.

What was it for anyway?
Some trains IMO look good with yellow front but some look terrible!

Fair point, though I'm always struck by how strange trains look without the yellow end because I'm so used to seeing it!

Back in the days when loco lights were poor the yellow end was to help people see a train was coming. Or so I've been told.

Working on track on a heritage railway id say yellow ends help.

And if the only reason not to have it is that the livery on the train doesn't look good. Then boo hoo....

Well no matter what your opinion about yellow fronts is (I think they are a good idea, and seemingly most recent liveried trains have managed to incorporate the yellow front without looking too "forced", plus you have the likes of the turbostars that seemingly had the cab front designed for just the right amount of yellow no matter what the rear of the unit is painted)

But back to the main subject... apparently 70801 is out on the mainline at the moment en route to Landor depot with 56094, I'm guessing the 56 is leading based on the headcode "0Z56"
