Codes like "(PP)" etc. What do the mean?

Hello everyone,

When I look at the Track and Route Mileage from Network Rail, some stations have lines with a abbrevation like "(PP)". There is also "(PP-A)", "(PP-C)" and maybe some more of them. At freight loops "(PF)" is used.

I've Googled these abbrevations to search for their meaning, but I couldn't find anything. Does anyone here know what they mean?

They refer to permissive working (i.e. more than one in a signal section) arrangements - PP and PF are permissive for passenger and permissive for freight respectively. The -A and -C suffixes on passenger lines show that permissive working is authorised for attaching movements only and for contingency only respectively.
