I was hoping that by reading all the way to the end of this thread I might be a little wiser about what the particular code was. I guess I'll just remain in anticipation for someone to pop up with the actual answer. In call centre terms, code 663 means going for a pee (or a number 2 if you're in it for over 4 minutes), as we're sharing codes that mean things!
That was 9 for us when I was in the call centre.

I heard a code 4 at Victoria the other day, and today I heard a typical 'can a member of BTP make themselves known to the station staff'. Why isn't there a code for that?
I would have thought that the hat and uniform might be a bit of a giveaway.

Passing through Stratford regional today I heard an announcement "Please can any BTP officer on the station mumble mumble mumble .. Please can a member of the British Transport Police mumble mumble mumble".
An off duty BTP officer went over to a very confused member of staff who got on the radio to find out where the BTP presence was required.

Will a member of the BTP please attend ___ where their assistance is [urgently] required. This is a code [1/2/3] announcement.
1 = Urgently required, staff at risk
2 = Normal requirement, e.g. passenger without ticket refusing to give name/address
3 = Minor requirement, e.g. passenger requires advice
BTP calls have nothing to do with the cleaner codes.
Also, miscellaneous coded announcements from large event venues such as the NEC/ExCeL/etc.: Staff Call 100 = bomb/terrorist threat or evacuation about to be invoked, Mr. Goodfellow = fire

Some years ago I was told that Hull used to call for a Mr Agni - that is until somebody pointed out that was the name of the Hindu God of Fire... Quickly changed to the standard Inspector Sands!
