AFAIK freight still consists of the iron and steel-based traffic to and from Luxembourg and some general freight.
Quite a few passenger services are loco hauled, certainly the batch of Intercity trains that run from Luxembourg to various destinations in Germany, via Koblenz. I think some of the RE semi fasts are also loco hauled, but AFAIK the RB locals are EMU.

The REs are 143s.

Just been down that line yesterday 
ICs to and from Luxembourg are indeed 181s (if you are lucky you might even get the blue one or ocean blue / beige one).
REs are nearly all 143s on double deckers (loco usually on the Trier end, but some are top and tailed), but it appears that 111s are going to take over as I saw at least one on these services and a couple more looking like they were on driver training trips. The 1122 RE from Koblenz to Kaiserslautern was an EMU yesterday but I don't know whether this is booked or not.
RBs at present appear to be mostly top & tail 143s on N wagons, if you are down the Western end of the line the Wittlich - Perl trains are all EMU.
Can't really comment on the freight but, over several visits I have seen MRCE 185s, pairs of 151s and other German electrics, and French 37xxx electrics. Also, the Bullay to Traben-Trarbach line is worked by DB 628s these days.
Further interest is provided by the rebuilding of the tunnel between Cochem and Bullay, there is a narrow gauge railway running from Ediger-Eller to the Western tunnel portal and some works trains run by RTS, saw a 232 down there yesterday and have seen an ER20 in the past.
