Coach Track Cam Sounds

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there is any way to add to my coaching stock that distinctive "whoosh whoosh" sound as each coach passes by in the track cam (key no. 4) in order to make the sound just a little bit more realistic?

I don't know much about the .sms system MSTS uses but from what I gather it's a little bit temperemental at times and can cause problems! <(

What I really want to know is would it be easy enough to do it or would it probably cause a lot of headaches to try to get each coach to whoosh past?

never actually tried this, but i see no reason why it should be so much of a headache as long as someone has created a sound file for download. If it has its own installer so much the better. If you look in the usual places (UKtrainsim, Railserve) you may get lucky. But if you were thinking of a D.I.Y job or can't find a download then it may become difficult and a long process to do but presumably no harder than a re-skin.

On a side note, I've just found out that it is possible. I have a couple of EuropeanBahn routes and traction (Midland Mainline and West Coast Express 1) and I found the MML HST has whooshing coaches and the Pendo in WCE also whooshes past :D

I'll have a nose around UKTS et al and see what I can find. I've never actually done any DIY jobs in MSTS but now I have a 3 month holiday from uni I have a lot of time on my hands so I'll certainly give it a go if I can't find anything out there already.

ETA: found "modern coach sounds" with whoosh effect on UKTS. Off to give it a try just now.

ETA2: Just tested it out and my Mk IIIs are pleasing to the ear! I made a comparison on YouTube of HST 125s (FGW) and Class 90s (NXEA) and tested out my stock on MSTS and it's pretty realistic :D

You could always just get a more up to date sim. RW2 is good for train sounds.
