CNS-DBY: cheapest season ticket option?

Hi all,

Soon to be commencing a rather lengthy Conisbrough-Derby commute every day, so looking at season ticket options.

Standard CNS-DBY is £330.70 for the month.

CNS-MEX & MEX-DBY gets that down to £310.30.

MEX-DBY on its own is £269.20, and I only live 3.5 miles from Mexborough station, but the bus options are horrendous and the car isn't available.

Thought about using Chesterfield as a split point, but a Chesterfield to Derby season ticket is over £200! Seems like the South Yorkshire bit is where the cheapness is. Any help much appreciated!

Hi there,
I can't find you a cheaper option but what about:

Adwick to Attenborough. £326.40

That gives a lot more flexibility. You can go from home into Doncaster if you want.
In terms of your routing you can go from home to Sheffield and then to Derby. Or from Sheffield you can go via Nottingham. Or, from home into Doncaster then down to Newark (walk) and across to Derby through Nottingham.

OK, perhaps none of these would be sane commutes but it gives you a season ticket that gives you a bit of extra amusement for a small saving on the direct ticket.
