Club 55 ticket

I have tried unsuccessfully to book a return ticket from Kings Cross to Blackpool on the club 55 website. As I understand it I would travel on Hull trains to Doncaster and then transpennine to Blackpool crossing 2 zones which should cost £25. Could somebody please try and book this route and advise what I am doing wrong. Many thanks in advance

We discussed in the London to Carlisle via Doncaster and Manchester (Club 55 question) thread that the online systems won't sell you a ticket for Club 55 journeys which are not travelling by a normally Permitted Route, but we have had no reports of difficulties in buying these tickets at railway stations. They don't need to be bought in advance of the day of travel.

Have just tried to purchase this ticket and was told the route was not valid for the club 55 offer, anyone any ideas as I travel tomorrow

Based on my experience, that's wrong. If it weren't valid why would there be a fare in the system valid HT/TPE only?
I should try again and point out that there is a fare listed.

Have now returned home from this trip and can confirm I had to pay £20 for Kings Cross to Doncaster and £12 from Doncaster to Blackpool this included my discount for disabled card. I asked all the conductors and at Kings Cross ticket office and all stated that I could not buy a ticket from London to Blackpool via Doncaster on the club 55 offer.
