Club 55 is back!

ScotRail have announced their summer Club 55 promotion - 22nd May to 30th June. One slight change - it is no longer valid on East Coast services on Sundays between Aberdeen and Edinburgh, in both directions, including intermediate stations, which is a shame as we have used those services in the past.

I am aware of this. My wife and I travelled many journeys with the Spring ATW offer from Wilmslow station to places such as Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Hereford on the ATW Manchester to South Wales services. It ran from early January through to early April, but unlike last year, First TPE did not run a Spring 2011 offer, as they did in Spring 2010.

I am very pleased that Scotrail are running a 5 week offer to the end of June as the weather can be quite good in this period. I think someone on another part of this forum, from England, is hoping to incorporate this use of the Club 55 facility as part of an extensive journey schedule.

I did write to First TPE, noting that no Spring Club 55 offer was run, but in reply to my query as to the possibility of an Autumn 2011 offer, I received no such reassurance.
