A bunch if us are going to Dover on Tuesday (15:39?) and returning to London St P at approx 23:45

Direct train about £30 down to £19.80 with our Gold Cards.

Are we missing any tricks?

Nah, besides I need to get back to Cheshunt.

I'm going to have to get the Tube north and then a taxi.

Assuming you're perhaps somewhere near the old pond (as I know you've said you use Theoblads Grove too), you could get as far as Waltham Cross by public transport then walk. Quickest way from Kings Cross to the other Cross late-evening is to take the Piccadilly Line to Turnpike Lane and catch a 217; the last bus connects (tightly) with the last tube, although from the sound of things you'll be earlier than that.

A good 30 in attendance last night, some didn't get home until 4am.

I was back at ten to one.

Thanks for the tip.

I got the Victoria to Tottenham Hale, missed the last train 00:10 by about four mins.

Got an Uber cab for £18

I was annoyed with Southeastern though as the TVM at St Pancras would not sell us the £19:80 fare.

We had to queue up for the ticket office; which could have resulted in us missing the train.

When I questioned the lady she was surly and said you had to get that ticket on line or at the office??

Surely a con?
