A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
We next move to Wales for the next journey.....

This is number 2028 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Pentwyn Halt
It follows the line of the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway
It then follows the line of the Monmouthshire Railway and Canal Company...via Pontypool Crane Street...via Bassaleg Junction
It then follows the line of the Sirhowy Railway...via Nine Mile Point...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Merthyr, Tredegar and Abergavenny Railway...via Nantybwch
It then follows the line of the Newport, Abergavenny and Hereford Railway...via Abergavenny Junction (1st station)
It then follows the line of the Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway...via Glascoed Halt
It then follows the line of the Ross and Monmouth Railway...via Monmouth Mayhill
It then follows the line of the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway...via Ross-on-Wye
It then follows the line of the Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway...via Moreton-on-Lugg
It then follows the line of the Worcester, Bromyard and Leominster Railway...via Stoke Prior Halt
It then follows the line of the Worcester and Hereford Railway...via Rushwick Halt
It then follows the line of the Ledbury and Gloucester Railway...via Ledbury Town Halt
It then follows the line of the Bristol and Gloucester Railway...via Haresfield
It then follows the line of the Bristol and North Somerset Railway...via Brislington...note that we are NOT using the branch line, but adhering to the main line
It then follows the line of the GWR Heart of Wessex Line...via Witham
The journey ends at the closed station of Marston Magna

The first closed station on this journey is Pentwyn Halt
