OBSERVATION

With regards to Desford station, the original station was opened by the Leicester and Swannington Railway on 18th July 1832.

When that railway was taken over by the Midland Railway, they were not happy with the location of the station site of that station, so on 27th March 1848, the Midland Railway opened a new station about 150 yards to the west of the original station site.

That means 1st and 2nd stations were opened at Desford.
