A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
We next move to Wales for the next journey.....

This is number 1948 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Brockweir Halt
It follows the line of the Wye Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the Coleford, Monmouth, Usk and Pontypool Railway...via Monmouth Troy
It then follows the line of the Newport, Abergavenny & Hereford Railway...via Little Mill Junction
It then follows the line of the Merthyr, Tredegar and Abergavenny Railway...via Abergavenny Brecon Road
It then follows the line of the Sirhowy Railway...via Sirhowy...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Monmouthshire Railway and Canal Company...via Risca (1st station)...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Brynmawr and Western Valleys Railway...via Brynmawr
It then follows the line of the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway...via Waenavon
It then follows the line of the Monmouthshire Railway and Canal Company...via Pontypool Crane Street
It then follows the line of the Brecon and Merthyr Railway...via Bassaleg
The journey ends at the closed station of Pengam

The first closed station on this journey is Brockweir Halt
