A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 1923 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Rothbury
It follows the line of the NBR Rothbury Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Wansbeck Railway...via Scotsgap
It then follows the line of the Border Counties Railway...via Reedsmouth
It then follows the line of the Newcastle and Carlisle Railway...via Mickley...via the North Wylam loop line
It then follows the line of the NER Durham Coast Line...via Gateshead East
It then follows the line of the Hartlepool Dock and Railway...via Hesleden...note 1st and 2nd stations
It then follows the line of the Durham and Sunderland Railway...via Murton
The journey ends at the closed station of Shincliffe Town

The first closed station on this journey is Rothbury
