Remember that the journey preamble stated that after the Cockermouth and Workington Railway, the next line was the Whitehaven and Furness Junction Railway (with a rider note...down to Sellafield).

There is much doubt in various sources as to the validity of Gilfoot as a passenger station, with thoughts of it being an engineering facility halt rather than an actual timetabled passenger railway station. It is noticeable that Wikipedia show the type of icon against it that they use for RoF halts and railway staff halts rather than that used for actual passenger railway stations.
