A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 898 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Southwark Park
It follows the line of the London and Greenwich Railway
It then follows the line of the South Eastern Railway
It then follows the line of the LSWR South Western Main Line
It then follows the line of the Basingstoke & Alton Light Railway
It then follows the line of the Meon Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the West Coastway Line
It then follows the line of the Midhurst Railways
It then follows the line of the LB&SCR Arun Valley Line...link line only, no closed stations
It then follows the line of the LB&SCR Cranleigh Line
It then follows the line of the LSWR Guildford to Alton Line...via Tongham
It then follows the line of the Bordon Light Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Bordon

The first closed station on this journey is Southwark Park

Clapham Common (aka Wandsworth, I think) - 1838 to 1863)

(I was interested to note in passing the Royal Station Wandsworth Road - a single platform positioned on the Nine Elms works head shunt. It's amazing how you can still find new things out about a route you have travelled hundreds of times)
