Something I didn't know - Dolgellau had a temporary first station called Frondirion, about half a mile west of the permanent station, operated by the Aberystwyth & Welsh Coast Railway for about six weeks in 1869 until the connecting line was ready. Even after that the station was operated as two separate platforms, the up platform being GWR and the down platform Cambrian - and marked as such on the OS map!
