It then follows the line of the Inverness and Perth Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Perth and Dunkeld Railway
It then follows the line of the Scottish Midland Junction Railway
It then follows the line of the Forfar and Brechin Railway
It then follows the line of the Aberdeen Railway
It then follows the line of the GNoS Denburn Valley Line...note 1st and 3rd stations
It then follows the line of the Great North of Scotland Main Line
It then follows the line of the Banff, Macduff and Turriff Junction Railway

That is a station on the Strathspey Railway, which does not feature on this journey.

We have now left the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway and are about to access the Inverness and Perth Junction Railway.

A certain atlas claims that as well as Dalvey on the Strathspey line, there was also a Dalvey station (closed pre-1901) between Brodie and Forres -- I was going by that. The same -- rather often erratic -- work, gives a closed-pre-1901 station, first south of Forres on the route toward Aviemore: wondering now whether that is also a phantom, but I'll give it a try --

Sorry to have been away, but I have been in telephonic discussions with my contact at RAILSCOT. He was the person who wrote the RAILSCOT article on the Inverness and Aberdeen Junction Railway and has never heard of a passenger station by the name of Dalvey that was constructed in the area between Brodie and Forres.

Thank you for thus investigating. Saying again, what I've said a hundred times before, about what I must do re info got via the Dewick man -- but I never seem to fulfil that vow...

Aviemore (Speyside)

Edit -- have just thought: heritage-line station "by birth", but has been taken out of use by the heritage outfit -- confusion for me, as to what the convention is in such situations !?

We certainly are having some "interesting" moments on this journey so far. Prior to Aviemore (Speyside), I feel that there was a closed station that has been missed......

.

A reading of the rather long Rule 3 will reveal a short section on stations that were both opened and closed by a heritage railway and Aviemore (Speyside) is actually shown as an example of such
