We next move to England for the next journey.....

This is number 774 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Gildersome East
It follows the line of the LNWR Leeds New Line
It then follows the line of the LNWR Leeds to Huddersfield Line
It then follows the line of the Manchester and Leeds Railway
It then follows the line of the LYR Pickle Bridge Line
It then follows the line of the GNR Low Moor to Laisterdyke Line...via Bowling
It then follows the line of the GNR Laisterdyke to Ardsley Line
It then follows the line of the Bradford, Wakefield and Leeds Railway
It then follows the line of the West Riding and Grimsby Railway
It then follows the line of the Great Northern Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the GER Peterborough to Ely Line
It then follows the line of the ECR Breckland Line
It then follows the line of the GER Wymondham to Forncett Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Great Eastern Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the Waveney Valley Line
It then follows the line of the GER East Suffolk Line
It then follows the line of the Great Eastern Railway Main Line
It then follows the line of the Stour Valley Railway
It then follows the line of the Saffron Walden Railway
It then follows the line of the Eastern Counties Railway Main Line...link line only, no closed stations
It then follows the line of the Newmarket and Chesterford Railway
It then follows the line of the GER Ipswich to Ely Line
It then follows the line of the Bury St Edmunds and Thetford Railway
The journey ends at the closed station of Thetford Bridge

The first closed station on this journey is Gildersome East

I may have the wrong end of the stick here: but it would seem to me that to get (briefly) on to the LYR's Manchester & Leeds line, and thence on to its Pickle Bridge line -- we needed to reverse at Bradley and gain LYR metals; next station would be the southernmost on the Pickle Bridge line, Clifton Road.

Not being able to find out where Dudley Hill (1st station) was...

(Just) on the direct GNR line Dudley Hill (2nd and more prominent) -- Low Moor: Dudley Hill (1st) is avoided by our route. This is, once more, per Dewick's Complete Atlas of Railway Station Names...
