I have had real trouble working out where this station was. The evidence suggests it was at the crossing of Wavertree Lane (now Wavertree Road) and close to the later station of Edge Hill (which was referred to in the planning stage as "New Wavertree Lane". If so then I don't think it is on our route as we want to head eastwards via Olive Mount Junction, towards Manchester.

The Liverpool and Manchester Railway Society have always maintained that particular railway station was on the line of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway and can I refer you to the quite detailed Wikipedia article that exists about this station..

GENERAL INFORMATION

Wikipedia has an article on Flow Moss station, where opinions are voiced about the station that was relocated in 1844 being Flow Moss Cottage, but a published author of a learned book on closed stations and other senior Wikipedia article editors are in agreement that this is one and the same Astley station (under another name) that was opened on exactly the same date in 1844.

This is the reason why I have chosen to only show Flow Moss station (1842-1844) and Astley station (Opened 1844) as stations on this particular quiz.
