That opens a proverbial can of worms operationally as that station is on the line of the Liverpool and Bury Railway which we do not visit on this journey, but the normal way would be to go via Bury Bolton Street station (now open heritage) to access the next line which is the Manchester, Bury and Rossendale Railway.
