What is the situation with Lowton station and the Parkside station that closed in 1878, on the line previous to that?

I must confess that I do sometimes get a little confused about ownership whenever we come this way. The North Union Railway joined the Liverpool and Manchester Railway at Parkside, but since the L&MR wasn't mentioned in the preamble I took the direct route instead. I think that was built by the Grand Junction Railway though, at a later date?
