One source shows a station called Braunston close to Saffron Lane Junction, where the north and south curves from the MML join, but I can't find any corroboration for it. ... so Kirby Muxloe

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England

The only two stations that I know with that name are:-
Braunston London Road (LNWR Weedon to Leamington Spa line)
Braunston and Willoughby (GCR London Extension)
Neither of them are in the area where the quiz has reached so far.

I agree - it doesn't make much sense to me. I have found other places where this source (Wignall's Gazetteer 1981) has completely misplaced stations. On the other had it occasionally contains clues to stations not covered in some of the more recent sources - and there is a district of Leicester called Braunstone not far away.
