Hmm - I think we should be heading south, in which case it should be Arthington (2nd) 1865-1965

GENERAL INFORMATION

The original station at Arthington (1843-1865) was that which was on the line of the main Leeds and Northallerton line. The second station was subsequently built to serve the connecting chord that linked the original line to that of the Otley and Ilkley Joint Railway, but that connection was north facing on the then-constructed triangular junction.

After a few minutes looking at Farnley & Wortley, which turns out not to have platforms on this line ....Gildersome

Let me try to clarify matters, Your mention of the station of Farnley & Wortley above showed that you were on the correct line of the LNWR Leeds New Line, but there is still a closed station prior to that one to name. Farnley & Wortlley did have platforms on this line, it was the line that led to Batley that did not.

Sorry, but that station of Gildersome that you named was actually opened by the Great Northern Railway in 1857, but there was a station called Gildersome East on the LNWR Leeds New Line so I hope this helps.

The dreaded molar tooth extraction is scheduled to take place at 1025 this morning (my son is taking me there in his 4 x 4) and the fields around our property look just like a Christmas Card picture

Hope the dental work this morning goes OK.

I admit to being confused here. I don't see how we managed to visit Leeds Central and then Holbeck Low Level. I assumed that we were approaching Farnley & Wortley North Junction from the line to Holbeck, which according to all the maps I can find didn't have platforms at Farnley & Wortley. Then I guess the missing station is Copley Hill, but to confuse matters further the Wikipedia entry shows this as east of Farnley & Wortley, whereas the loco shed of the same name (and therefore presumably the station) was west of Farnley & Wortley. More work needed in this area!

So instead of Gildersome ... Gildersome East and hope somebody picks up from there.

I wonder how Paul is feeling, he should have undergone his dental surgery by now I would have thought?

I could imagine that things are somewhat on the tender side (orally speaking) to say the least.
