Despite appearances on some maps, I don't think Maudland Bridge is on our route.

I am wondering if you may be confusing the original terminal station of Maudlands, which became a goods station in 1856 when Maudlands Bridge was opened, allowing through traffic onto the line of the Lancaster and Carlisle Railway into Preston. Your map should show the chord that allowed this to happen.
