Hellifield (1849-1880)

That station was located a distance SOUTH of the existing station, on the line of the "Little" North Western Railway, after the junction that took us towards Newsholme.

Therefore, it cannot be used on this particular journey, but could be used on any journey on this quiz on the "Little" North Western Railway being the main line that went towards Skipton

I can see the Hilton House Branchline on my diagram diverging from the Preston to Bolton Line between the former Horwich Branch and the current Horwich Parkway Station, unfortunately the detail is not sufficient enough to show from what direction it actually diverges.

Runcorn Gap (1st station site up to 1853) is the final closed station on this journey.

This is number 441 in the series so far.....

The journey starts at the closed station of Benllech and Red Wharf Bay
It follows the line of the Red Wharf Bay Branch Line
It then follows the line of the Anglesey Central Railway
It then follows the line of the Chester and Holyhead Railway
It then follows the line of the Chester and Crewe Railway
It then follows the line of the Crewe and Shrewsbury Railway
It then follows the line of the Nantwich and Market Drayton Railway
It then follows the line of the Wellington and Drayton Railway
It then follows the line of the Shrewsbury to Stafford Line
It then follows the line of the Stafford and Uttoxeter Railway
It then follows the line of the NSR Churnet Valley Line
It then follows the line of the Stoke to Manchester Line
The journey ends at the closed station of Macclesfield Beech Bridge


The first closed station on this journey is Benllech and Red Wharf Bay
