Swinton Town second site

As the second station was only on the other side of the road bridge, can I refer you to the quiz rules that notes locations that are considered too near to be allowed. A similar example, noted in the rules is the original station of Blue Pits and the replacement Castleton station which also was built on the other side of a bridge.

Newly updated rules effective from October 2014
(3)....Stations that were closed and had their replacement station built in extreme proximity are NOT allowed as a valid posting entry on this quiz (examples being that of the situation of the first station sites at Blue Pits (Castleton,Manchester), Church Stretton, Prestatyn and at Llandudno Junction)

This is the rule section that I am referring to.

I'd forgotten that rule. But isn't there now an open station on the original site?

I think that sometime in 2012, after a discussion, we agreed to say that there were two sites there, an open one and a closed one, so a single "Swinton Town" entry was deemed a acceptable upon this quiz.

There was a discussion about this in 2012 relating to Meadowhall

I always seem to confuse the station of the Sheffield and Rotherham Railway with that of the South Yorkshire Railway, so I have "struck-through" my posting of Wincobank.

As you say, Meadowhall Interchange is indeed built on the site of Wincobank station which was also known as Wincobank and Meadowhall during its lifetime.
